Lawyer Wang Zheng, Partner of Zhenghan Law Firm, served as the concluding and commenting guest in his capacity as Director of the Civil and Commercial Litigation Professional Committee.
Lawyer Ma Mingwei, Partner of Zhenghan Law Firm, was invited to deliver a thematic sharing entitled Revised New Company Law: How to Effectively Conduct Penetrative Debt Recovery. Focusing on the core logic of penetrative debt recovery, Lawyer Ma analyzed the paths to break through the relativity of obligations and limited liability by combining practical cases.
Lawyer Ma Mingwei systematically sorted out eight major types of debt recovery. Due to time constraints, this sharing focused on explaining the practical key points of the capital contribution category and the 混同类 (mixed category): in the capital contribution category, the liability boundaries of shareholders, directors, supervisors, senior management and intermediary institutions under circumstances such as accelerated capital contribution, defective capital contribution and withdrawal of capital contribution were clarified; the mixed category focused on the corporate personality denial system, analyzing the identification criteria such as personality 混同 (personality mixing) and significant insufficient capital.
In addition, drawing on extensive practical experience in the field of complex dispute resolution, Lawyer Ma Mingwei demonstrated the key points of evidence presentation and procedural choices for different debt recovery paths through judicial cases, such as the nine typical manifestations of capital withdrawal and the application of supplementary compensation liability for illegal capital reduction, providing clear guidance for lawyers to effectively apply the new Company Law to protect creditors’ rights and interests in practice. During the training camp, Lawyer Yao Huiyun explained around “what is litigation visualization”, pointing out that visualization is a more concrete, accurate and profound way of expression than words. Based on her long-term experience in handling large-value and complex commercial cases, Lawyer Yao Huiyun summarized the core functions of visualization into three aspects: first, fact sorting, presenting complex legal relationships in a highly intuitive manner through litigation visualization methods; second, analysis and argumentation, comparing the legal logic of different paths and quickly locking in the optimal strategy through visualization; third, communication and persuasion, facilitating efficient decision-making through charts such as comparison graphs.
In terms of the principles for effective visualization, Lawyer Yao Huiyun summarized three points based on practical experience: first, globalization, covering the core elements of the case, such as the timeline of a lease contract dispute, marking the signing of the contract, breach of contract acts, and 催告 nodes without omitting key links; second, minimalism, with one chart focusing on only one key point, presenting content by category and discarding redundant text; third, user-centricity, not causing trouble to the audience, avoiding ambiguous expressions and large paragraphs of text, customizing charts according to needs as judges focus on legal elements and clients prioritize commercial impacts. The young lawyers participating in the training all stated that Lawyer Yao’s sharing broadened their case-handling thinking and provided new perspectives and tools for improving the quality of legal services.

Lawyers from Zhenghan Law Firm Deliver Thematic Sharing on “Efficient Case Handling with AI” at Shanghai Bar Association

On July 11, 2025, the second session of the “Future Legal Professionals” Evolution Camp hosted by the Shanghai Bar Association was successfully held. Lawyer Yao Huiyun, Partner of Shanghai Zhenghan Law Firm, and Lawyer An Da were invited to deliver a thematic sharing entitled “How Litigation Lawyers Use AI to Analyze Cases Efficiently”, sharing practical experience of AI in case analysis for 40 guests on site.
This sharing focused on the practical application of AI in litigation practice. Lawyer An Da first analyzed the underlying logic of AI-generated content, pointing out that its essence is to provide high-probability results based on databases. Although it can offer generally correct answers in most fields, it cannot replace lawyers in making high-difficulty professional judgments. He then introduced two core methods of AI interaction: “email-style communication” and “WeChat-style communication”. The former realizes structured information retrieval through long Markdown prompts, improving instruction accuracy with syntax such as heading levels and list indentation; the latter adopts a progressive dialogue of “putting forward requirements – supplementing information – confirming conclusions”, which is suitable for preliminary legal issue analysis. On site, taking practical issues such as disputes over equity repurchase periods and the validity of state-owned asset transaction contracts as examples, he demonstrated how to use AI to assist in sorting out facts, summarizing disputed issues and drafting legal documents.
Lawyer Yao Huiyun, Partner, emphasized the necessity for lawyers to review AI-generated content, reminding practitioners to be alert to the risks of false citations and invalid legal bases. She also pointed out that special attention should be paid to the security risks of AI use, advising lawyers to conduct desensitization processing before uploading files, such as replacing names and adding mosaics to protect client information. Meanwhile, she shared the applicable scenarios of different AI tools—some excel in processing mixed text and image documents, while others have unique advantages in specific database retrieval, providing clear guidance for lawyers to select appropriate tools. In addition, combining Zhenghan Law Firm’s practical experience in complex dispute resolution, she elaborated on how to use AI tools to assist in optimizing court materials and visualization documents, enabling technology to better serve the entire case analysis process.
As a demonstration of Zhenghan Law Firm’s practical achievements in the field of legal technology, this sharing was widely recognized by the participants for its practice-oriented content design. Zhenghan Law Firm has long explored the application of AI in complex dispute resolution. By building an AI tool matrix and continuously testing and iterating emerging AI tools, the firm promotes the in-depth integration of AI technology and legal services, aiming to provide clients with more efficient and accurate dispute resolution solutions, and at the same time offer a referable practical path for the application of artificial intelligence technology in the legal profession.

Particularly in case handling, she has gradually built a sound relationship of mutual trust with adjudicators she has never met before, relying on her professionalism and personal charm — this is truly the “highest realm” of communication skills for a dispute resolution lawyer. It has also significantly enhanced the reputation of Zhenghan lawyers in the legal circle, setting an example worthy of learning from each of us. Xiao Yi fully meets the standards of Zhenghan’s young partners. I wish her continued steady growth after becoming a partner and emerging as a backbone among Zhenghan’s young generation of partners. 【Partner Wang Zheng】
