This case is the first domestic large-scale claim case for reliance interest, involving the legal characterization of this niche business and the identification of third-party reliance interests. There are no clear provisions in laws and regulations on the disputes involved, making it easy to substitute legal judgments with simple values. The handling team broke away from the traditional tort thinking, and starting from the scope of protection of civil rights and interests under the Tort Liability Law, successfully demonstrated that the rights and interests claimed by the plaintiff are not protected by the Tort Law. This innovative strategy demonstrates the high-level capability of the handling team in dealing with complex and novel cases, and ultimately helped the client avoid a huge compensation of 300 million yuan.
